Let’s start from the very beginning: What is fake news?

• There is empirical evidence that false news spreads significantly “faster, deeper, and more broadly” than the true ones. For example, MIT study found that the top 1% of false news cascades diffused to 1,000 – 100,000 people, whereas the true ones rarely reached more than 1,000 people.
• An estimated 66% of links to popular websites shared on tweeter are generated by automated accounts
• The EU has also called for social media services like Facebook or Twitter to combat fake news, remove them from their site, and want them to be regulated via law. The EU also adopted legislation in March 2019 to protect elections from data misuse following the Cambridge Analytica/ Facebook scandal.

This is just a taste of the topics we are will tackle. We have created a youth exchange program with the desire to impact participants, increasing their self-esteem and improving awareness of the critical role they can play in their local communities if they actively participate in collective life.
